P4LR is an experimentation in uncompromising COG, efficient flight dynamics, minimalist design and obsessive tuning. How it started: My penpal email buddy, A.K. from Germany showed me a photo of his totally custom P4CR. What caught my eye was how flat it was. He essentially put lower stand offs, a custom front cage to lower the 200 gram 4S Li-ion pack battery as close to the prop line as he could. He claimed it reduced vibrations, made it easier to tune, and created an even more responsive quad with less latency. Sounds great right? But of course there are going to be drawbacks. This custom design can only be built a certain way. It only fits AIO's and any VTX no taller than 14.5mm. For my personal build, I chose the DJI O4 PRO, for it's lightness, and obviously state of the art 10-bit video quality. As for power, I had on hand the GEPRC 1404 3000KV 4S. This provided a balance of high efficiency and enough power. During my tuning, I found the Flywoo AM32 bit 45A AIO is almost mandatory. I must stress, 32-bit is the KEY to get the most out of this build and all my long range builds in the future. So make sure you don't settle for less. I spent weeks fine tuning this quad and that's what made the biggest difference. Now, she flies GRACEFULLY. Ultra responsive, minimal vibrations, highly efficient, and power only comes in when it needs to. With it's large TPU60A camera dampeners, no jello or vibrations have been observed in the footage, especially after post processing with gyroflow. The quad is completely milled from strong T700 carbon fiber and features all lightweight titanium screws. This quad is highly agile with smaller batteries and can remain sub250g. With the 3000mah 4S Li-ion pack, it still cruises nice for the days you just want to chill out, explore and come home with great footage. Flight times can vary between 20 to 25 minutes until land now at 2.8V per cell. P4LR is why I LOVE FPV DRONES. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
